Hi I'm Norman

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada and joined the church when I met my wife to be while living in Calgary 37 years ago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five married children and grandfather of five. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona where I assist my wife in managing the family business, del Adora Fine Linen. I love all outdoor activities but I'm passionate about distance running and golf. I'm an advocate for living a sustainable lifestyle, having acquired a depth of knowledge of environmentally sensitive construction practices for real estate. I love spending time with my children and am proud of each of them and their accomplishments. I became a Mormon after I met my future wife and her family in Calgary, Alberta and have never regretted the decision to be a member of Christ's true church on earth today. Like most active Mormons, I have served in a variety of volunteer positions within the church but particularly cherish the years I spent serving in the young men's program. Because I joined the church in my twenties, I did not have an opportunity to go on a mission like my son, so a goal high on my bucket list is to serve a full time mission with my wife, hopefully in a foreign country.

Why I am a Mormon

When the missionaries of the church taught me the gospel, I received a strong testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ and of His restoration of the church through the boy Joseph Smith. I knew that if God spoke to prophets anciently, then He would reveal His teachings to latter day prophets as a prelude to the second coming of the Savior. The gospel has been such a blessing in my life, teaching me how to be a better man and father. I thank God for sending me five beautiful children then allowing me to learn on the job the role of a father. I am also extremely grateful for the patience of a loving heavenly Father who has granted me time sufficient to work on overcoming my many failings. The hand of the Lord is continually extended to us in an invitation to come unto Him, to be more like Him.

How I live my faith

I have been proud to have served in a variety of volunteer capacities in the church as I believe an abundant life is achieved by honoring Christ through service to others. I currently teach members of the church a class that prepares them to enter sacred temples. In the temple we are taught, make covenants, and receive ordinances and the promise of blessings that will enable us to live in the presence of God.
