Hi I'm Leslie

I'm a wife and a mother. I'm American and my husband is British. I love art, music, travel and photography and I'm a mormon.

About Me

My husband met my brother while they were both serving in the Washington DC South Mission as full-time missionaries for the church. They became friends and he sent me his first letter when he had only 9 months left to go until his mission was over. We wrote to each other for the remainder of his time as a missionary before finally meeting in person. We are now happily married with a beautiful son living in gorgeous England. I play the guitar and harmonica and enjoy traveling, snowboarding, painting, blogging, music and photography. My role as a wife and mother come first in my life and I enjoy every second of it.

Why I am a Mormon

Wether you were born into the gospel or joined later on in life, sooner or later we all arrive at a place in which we must choose for ourselves to follow Christ. My testimony of this gospel lies deep within my personal relationship with our Savior. That testimony has been and continues to be built up stronger within the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. From a young age in the church, I was brought up to understand the importance of having Christ in my life and I, in turn, aim to instill that desire into my own children. I plan to do this because above all, I have witnessed what a testimony of Christ does to a persons life...it brings a kind of happiness that can only be described as miraculous. Much of that happiness stems from what we learn from and participate in within the Lords Temple. I also have a firm testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith. That testimony was first acquired by reading the Book of Mormon then praying for an answer of it's truthfulness. Just as I have a testimony of Joseph Smith, I also sustain and love our prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. I love my husband and we do our best to keep our life centered around Christ.

How I live my faith

I have held many callings in the church, beginning when I was only 12 years old. That's one of the things I love about the church...having members from a young age learn how to serve in leadership capacities while strengthening their testimony. Currently, I serve by teaching in our adult women's class and as a den leader in the cub scout organization. Both of these have taught me so many things and have given me opportunities to grow and feel love for those I serve. Serving, I believe, is one of the ways we can feel the most close to our Savior Jesus Christ and that is a constant reminder for me to live and act in a way in which I am worthy of his blessings.
