Hi I'm Karen
I am a wife, and mother of 2 daughters. I'm a nurse practitioner. I'm a Mormon.
I was single throughout my 20s. I wanted to be married, but didn't find the right person. I took advantage of that time to go on medical service missions around the world. I also advanced my education to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I was blessed to find my husband when I was 31 years old. Through him I have 2 step-daughters and now he and I have 2 additional daughters. I love being a mom. I still work to help support the family, while he is in school to further his education and prep for a career. I like taking my girls in the stroller. I like to organize things, read books, visit with family, and bake.
I'm a Mormon because I know that it is God's true church. I have felt it in my heart and know without a doubt that God leads this church. When I was young, I didn't exactly know how to recognize the Holy Ghost. I felt it growing up, but I didn't realize what it was. Once I learned that these peaceful, beautiful feelings of comfort are from God, then it was obvious I was in the right place. Sometimes I feel that the Spirit helps me to identify truth because it just makes sense. The Church helps me to know how God wants me to live to find happiness. When I do what is right, my life goes more smoothly. I can manage my husband, children, work, and other demands better. I can get through the trials because I know that our Father in Heaven is helping me. As a Mormon, I was married in the temple, where we are sealed for time and all eternity. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be linked to my family. I love my children and husband so much that I want to be with them forever. I feel so blessed that God has given us this opportunity.
I live my faith by raising my children to know about Christ. We talk about Jesus, read the scriptures or books about the scripture stories, and pray together. I am amazed at how early my toddler caught on to praying, that she folds her arms to pray, and will say "amen" at the end. I try to live my life in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try to be more compassionate, understanding, forgiving and patient. I think one of the best places for me practice this is in the home, although it does extend to other places such as my work.
