Hi I'm Sherida Mesake

I'm a hairstylist, I'm a Picture Framer, I'm a wife; but best of all...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up here in WA state USA and have loved living in the Pacific North West. In junior high school I took a wood shop class and learned that I have a talent for building & creating things. All through high school I took a photography class and learned I had a talent for that as well. After graduation I decided to go to Cosmetology school & pursue my passion for doing hair. At that same time I got a part time job as a picture framer in my local town. I loved going to cosmetology school, but I realized that framing is my true passion in life. I got to use my skills in woodworking, my skills in photography & my skills in scrapbooking and roll them all into one profession. I realized that God had prepared me & helped me realize what my true profession should be. One day as I was preparing a speech for church, God told me to serve a mission. I wasn't planning on serving a mission, but I put my faith in him & went. After all, he prepared me for my job, he'll help me with my mission as well. I served as a missionary in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission. I loved every minute of it. Turns out that God had been preparing me my whole life to serve the people I met there in GA. I couldn't have had a more perfect experience. I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve as a missionary. Since being home from my mission, I went back to framing, I met and married the man of my dreams & have now embarked on the grand adventure of marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I knew the teachings were true & tried to live them as best I could. When I went to serve as a missionary I had the opportunity to deepen my testimony of these truths & doctrines. I wanted to be SO sure that what I believed was true, that when someone tried to shake my faith, I could not be shaken. I started at the beginning. Does God & Jesus Christ live & do they know me? I pondered & prayed about that & received my answer that they are real & know me. Next I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet & if he really did see God & Jesus Christ. I found out that it was true as well. I continued on till I had strengthened my testimony of each doctrine of this restored church. After all this, I knew I could not turn away from this knowledge. I can not deny Christ. Why am I Mormon? Because I know that this church is teaching the truth. And I have seen how my life is better for living it as best I can. I'm Mormon & I'm happier because of it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church on Sunday's & by trying to be Christlike in my daily life. In the past I have volunteered my time in helping the young single adult program in organizing dances, I have helped in the women's organization by planning activities, I have volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Leader, worked with youth & many other things. I am far from being perfect & being Christlike. But each time I am asked to help out at church I have gained a new skill & developed a new attribute that helps me be a better person & become more like Christ. If I am willing, God will make me who He wants me to be, through participating at church. That's a pretty cool thing if you ask me.
