Hi I'm Deborah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mother of 3 and a Grandmother of 6. Our granddaughter will make her appearance in November around Thanksgiving. I am a Story time specialist and I go into Preschools and Head Start and Kindergarten classrooms as a volunteer and share my joy of reading and promote early literacy. My main passion is children. I have learned at an early age that I was blessed with a gift to enjoy and understand just how special little ones are. I love to do service for others because it makes me happy and the rewards are wonderful. It also helps you forget your own problems and not become so selfish. I love to do random acts of anonymous kindness. I enjoy being with my family and good friends. I collect antiques and love to go to thrift stores and I always find the best stuff. My weakness is children's books as I am always looking for great books for story time. I have been doing story time for children and music from many years as it brings me such joy. I went to college to get my early childhood degree at night when my children were little. I taught Preschool and kindergarten for over 20 years. I also have a nursing degree I received 10 years later but I care so much about people and it has become to much of a business now days. I discovered I love children to much and I also discovered I have a love for older people and both can teach us so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I found out at a very early age that I was looking for the truth. When I was 13 years of age. A friend invited me to go to a church dance and I started going to all youth activities. It felt like I was home and it seemed familiar. When I wanted to be baptized. My parents sat me down and we discussed the importance of my decision. I was baptized at the age of 14 years old. I have never felt such joy and happiness in my life and my search was over. I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves each one of us beyond what we can comprehend. He sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ, to die for each of us. The restoration of this true church and the gospel could only have happened in this free county of America. I know that Joseph Smith was a man of God and a prophet. He truly saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ and he could not deny what he saw. Joseph Smith died for what he saw in a vision and the truth and for the book of Mormon. We have a living Prophet upon the earth today just like the times of old. We also have scriptures that testify of Jesus Christ and to help to lead us back home. We live in exciting times of these last days. I know in my heart without a shadow of a doubt that this is the true gospel that existed upon the earth at the time of Jesus Christ walked upon the earth. With this knowledge I am not fearful because I am strong and have a great faith. I feel a closeness to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost testifies of this to me.

How I live my faith

I try to live the commandments and live the gospel the very best I can everyday. I am not perfect but I pray each morning to have help and I feel the holy spirit guide me daily. I also pray to see the lord in my life and see his hand and miracles everyday. I know when I make a poor choice I can go in prayer and ask for his forgiveness. I also ask for help in my prayers to help me in my weakness to help me to become stronger. I go to Church every Sunday and teach the 3-4 year old children. They teach me so much more than I teach them. I attend a gospel doctrine class every Tuesday morning to study the scriptures and be spiritually feed. I love the gospel and fellowship of each others as we all try to live the gospel and have the same goals. Their is a sisterhood and brotherhood that is wonderful because we are all trying to do the best we can. I was married in the Temple and I have my children sealed to me forever. I want to live in a way so that blessing can be obtained. I attend the Temple as often as possible because it feels like home and it is the only place on this earth in this evil world that feels so peaceful and like God the father and his son Jesus Christ are there and they walk the halls of the holy Temples on this earth. I do not watch a lot of T.V and I am very selective and do not watch R rated and P.G 13 movies because I try to live high standards . I do not drink coffee or tea. I have always dressed modestly to show respect for myself and others.
