Hi I'm Teddi Wengert!

I love being Mormon:)

About Me

I was born in Utah, and as a young teen my family moved to Texas! I cherish my upbringing in both places--but especially in Texas, for it was there that I came to know myself and the Lord even better. I came to appreciate the culture of the south; the courtesy, the charm and the good Christian people. I came to love the BBQ and floating the river...both pastimes one must experience if given the chance:) I graduated high school in 2006 and moved to Provo, UT to study at Brigham Young University. I soon decided that I was desirous to serve a mission for my church; and prepared. I was called to Hong Kong, China and learned Cantonese! What an incredible and unforgettable year and a half. Never have I met a more humble and kind-hearted people; I have learned so much from my brothers and sisters a world away. After my mission, I returned to school but this time in Arizona where my family currently resides. It was there that I was introduced to my husband; we have been married for just over a year and are happy as can be! We are so excited to start our family; and are expecting our first little one in the Spring! Unlike most couples, we have decided NOT to find out what we are having; and are greatly anticipating the surprise:)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by loving parents who instructed me in the ways of the Lord; but it wasn't until they moved me to Texas that I came to really know for myself the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was one of just a handful of Mormon kids that attended my school, and often my beliefs raised questions and stirred curiosity. I had to be able to explain elements of my faith that had never really been questioned before, and live what I believed. These opportunities to share my beliefs strengthened my testimony, and the faith I had in God and this church. I was aware of him, and knew he was aware of me. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony truth. This is in part because of The Book of Mormon. I have read its pages; I have felt a literal power from God testifying to my heart that it is truly his word, along with the Bible. This knowledge, along with my testimony of the Savior and his Atonement, are gems that I treasure. I am a Mormon because I desire an eternal family; the chance to be with my loved ones forever. I know that my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ live! I know that Christ has restored this true church again here on the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Lord is active in our lives, and desires that we might return to him again. Imperfect as I am, I know that I'm loved and expected to live in such a way that I may do so.

How I live my faith

Having been raised in a strong Christian community, I learned at an early age the importance of living your religion. And that means doing so at all times, in all things and in all places. This has been a great foundation for me. Although I am never perfect, I strive to follow the example of the Savior, and mirror my actions, attitude, behavior and heart after His. Christ's love is pure and perfect; and I have come to realize that love is truly at the heart of everything religious. I want to live my faith because I love Christ. I read my scriptures to learn his words and the words of his prophets; written to us out of love. I can pray to my loving Heavenly Father anytime and anywhere; and I do! I love the Sabbath day where I can gather with others to worship. I always remember Christ's words when he said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments".
