Hi I'm Mekenzie

I am a writer and a reader, I am a student, I ride horses, I love chocolate, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter and sister to 2 brothers and a sister. I am a cowgirl; I ride horses and compete in western events such as barrel racing. I love going quad riding and being out doors. I am an aspiring writer. I read whenever I can. I also like to make jewelry. I am a senior in high school, preparing to go to college were I want to major in creative writing and secondary English education. I lift weights and am on the track team, throwing shot-put and discus.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a third generation Mormon but that isn't the reason I go to church. I have a personal conviction of the truth of the gospel. Were it not for the church, I would have lost all hope for life. The gospel teaches that we will go through trials but that they cannot last forever. The trials we go through strengthen us and lead us closer to God and Jesus Christ. If I didn't have that knowledge, I don't know what I would do. The gospel of Christ also teaches that we can be with our families forever. I would love nothing more than to always have my family, even after I die.

How I live my faith

The most important part of living my faith is holding to my standards around other people. If I drop my standards people see and they get a bad idea of Mormons. I serve as an assistant in my youth group and participate in service organizations such as NHS. I treat everyone with respect, no matter their race, religion or other such defining characteristics. They are all God's children so I will treat them as such.
