Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I like to be outside and engaged in recreational activities. I like to water-ski, snow-ski, hike, mountain bike, camp, etc. I love to be outside with my family and friends. My wife would like to just sit, relax, and stay home for a weekend but realizes that if I sit still for more that a couple of hours on a weekend I get too antsy. One of my favorite things to do is to wake up early in the morning and get out on the lake to water-ski while the water is still smooth. I am a professional engineer and work with a small consulting firm. I have a masters degree in civil engineering. I design bridges, water tanks, roads and other things of the sort. I became an engineer because I was good at math. I served a full time mission to Chile and was once fluent in Spanish but my speaking skills have diminished due to a lack practice. I like to eat food, especially hamburgers, donuts and other deserts. My favorite movie is Raising Arizona and I listen to sport talk radio. I also enjoy the Colbert Report. I am superstitious. I wore the same worn out hat every time I took a test in college. I do not like to cut my hair or shave. My wife says I dress like an old man because all I wear is khaki pants or khaki cutoffs that I purchased from the thrift store.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because following Christ and his teachings bring me hope and peace. The gospel of Jesus brings perspective that gives me hope and guidance to help me in mortality. I am a Mormon because the gospel teaches me that I can be together for eternity with my wife and children. I am a Mormon because I believe that Joseph Smith saw God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ and translated the Book of Mormon. I believe that the gospel has been restored, I feel it in my heart and it makes perfect sense to me in my mind

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow Jesus Christ and treat people as he would want me to. I serve in the church with the adult men of the congregation. I teach and participate in lessons by sharing my beliefs and perspective on the teachings of the gospel. Part of my responsibilities is to organize quarterly activities to foster brotherhood. We usually eat and socialize and are planning to shoot skeet.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Jeff
Apostles are called to testify of Christ and give direction to the church. We face different challenges during our times that those during the times of Jesus so for this reason God has again chosen wise men to provide guidance and inspiration. To me it testifies of the love of our Heavenly Father that he has provided Apostles to help me just like he did for those who lived long ago. Show more Show less
