Hi I'm Linda

I'm a musician. I'm half Chilean. I'm a football (soccer) fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really do love music. I love listening to music, playing music, and writing music. I play guitar and cello, but I can play a few other stringed instruments. I love how much there is to learn about music. You could study it your whole life and not even know everything there is to know. Its amazing to me. I'm a part Latina that lives in rainy Western Washington. My mom is from Chile and my dad is from the US, that makes me half Chilean. Knowing about my heritage has helped me feel more connected with the world. Learning about the cultures that my family has come from has made me want to learn about other cultures from around the world. When you learn about culture you learn about people. You can see the world through their eyes. I also love football, no not American football, the sport that the rest of the world calls football. I love watching the La Liga in Spain, and I love watching the World Cup, Copa America, Champions League, just about all of it. I love that just about every country plays the sport. I love how it brings so many people together. Pretty soon I'm going to have to tune out of the soccer world because I am going to serve a mission for 18 months in Mexico. I'm super excited for that opportunity and I am glad that I will be able to teach in Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. I grew up learning the principals of the Gospel and as I grew older (and I still am) I learned that what I was taught were and will always be true. I know that this church is true and I love it. I know who I am because of what I have been taught, I am a daughter of God. I love my Heavenly Father. And I know he knows and loves me too. He knows what I need, he knows what I want, he knows who I want to be and he knows exactly what I need in my life to make me a better person. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am amazed at the love that he gives me. He took upon my sins and died for me. He made it possible for me to live with my Heavenly Father again, and I can't say or do enough to show how grateful I am for that. I am so glad Joseph Smith restored the Gospel, that we may know the truth so that we know how to return back to live with our Heavenly Father and I know that what he did really happened. He saw God the Father and Jesus, his son, in person. I know that the scriptures are true. I finally read the entire Book of Mormon and I know that every word in it is true and that they are words that we need right now to know how to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Thomas S. Monson is a living Prophet of God. He speaks the truth. I know I can find great joy in this Gospel and only through this Gospel can I find true joy. I love my family and I know that we can live together again someday, forever. My testimony is what I know to be true, not just what I believe, but what I know and what I want everyone to know.

How I live my faith

Everyday I try to do my best. I try to follow the counsel I've been given from church leaders and from the scriptures. I have two callings in my branch, visiting teaching supervisor and bulletin specialist. I try my best to fulfill those callings. I'm not always the best at them, but as long as I do what I am asked then I know I am doing my part even if it is the bare minimum. I try to be kind to the people around me and I try to be a good example wherever I am.
