Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a full-time mother of six. I homeschool. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time mom of six children. I homeschool and I love learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to faithful members of The Church Of Latter-day Saints, and was taught the gospel from the time I was little. I did not always make the right choices, however, and by the time I was a teenager I had so many regrets I thought my life was worthless. I decided I needed to find out for myself if what my parents had taught me about repentance and the atonement of Jesus Christ was true. Could He really love me even though I chose to do things I knew were not right? Is repentance really possible or was my life ruined before I was even an adult? I searched the scriptures looking for understanding. I prayed frequently and fervently, admitting my faults to my Heavenly Father. I prayed for forgiveness, and to know if the gospel was true. Could the atonement really be applied to me? Were all the things my parents taught me true? After many weeks of studying and pleading to my Father in Heaven, I felt a peace come over me that I had never known before. I knew that my Heavenly Father an Jesus Christ loved me. I knew I was forgiven. I knew that the gospel was true. I have since felt that peace many times while reading the Book of Mormon, and attending the temple. I know that God loves us each individually. I know that He wants us to live righteously and that He gives us help through scripture, prophets, and personal revelation. I know that repentance is possible, and part of a continual process of striving to live righteously. I know someday I will see my Savior face to face and I want to kneel before Him with gratitude and not shame.

How I live my faith

I love the Sabbath. I love to attend church meetings every week and feel the spirit that is there. I serve in the nursery and teach the young children about Jesus and about Heavenly Father's love for them. I love to visit and teach other sisters in my congregation. I also enjoy attending activities designed to strengthen me spiritually and socially. My children participate in scouts and youth activities that encourage service and development of personal talents. I love to read the scriptures on a daily basis and find that every time I read I find new things I can understand. I love to attend the temple as often as I can. I teach my children about Jesus Christ and we strive together to develop the qualities that Christ has. I teach them about repentance because I know that in life we often make mistakes and even wrong choices.
