Hi I'm Jerry

I love camping, cycling and the ocean. Weekends with my family are sacred. Sunday is a very special day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors and have always had a passion for nature photography. When I can, I try to cycle to work instead of driving. It's great to enjoy my surroundings and get a little exercise at the same time. I am sure grateful to be working. Before the dot-com bust I made a radical career change and worked to improve my formal education. That can be tough when starting a family at the same time. A few years after, I lost the new job and had to find another to provide for the family. My faith in God helped me to cope and gave me the confidence I needed to move forward.

Why I am a Mormon

Families are of the utmost importance. The church teaches us how to be close and promotes family activities and gives me the tools to teach and influence my kids to do well. The people I associate with at church each Sunday are genuine and sincere and best of all, they share the same important values and goals.

How I live my faith

I love working with the church youth (12-18 yr olds) as they plan activities and share their thoughts and experiences. They sure stand out from many around them as they strive to follow the Savior's example and avoid things around them that could be harmful. I also am active in community and school PTA, where I can interact with many wonderful community members.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Jerry
This incredible book contains the teachings of God, initially revealed to and written by to a prophet and his family who flee the wickedness of the people of Jerusalem many centuries before Christ's birth. The historical writings are preserved and handed down from prophet to prophet over several centuries and gives an account of their peoples' righteousness, contentions, wars and social decline in periods of time when wickedness prevails. The teachings in the book are easily understood and if accompanied by prayer, the reader can gain an overwhelming witness of its truth through the testimony of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jerry
By Studying the principles, reading the Book of Mormon, interacting with the members and discovering their true character. Most importantly by sincere prayer. God loves us and will truly answer a sincere prayer: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering..." New Testament, James 1:5 Show more Show less
