Hi I'm Randy Bristol

I come from a deep Southern tradition in the Bible Belt area. We say Grace and we say Ma'am and....I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have been Married for 27 years to my High School sweet heart. We were married soon after I returned home from serving a mission in Manchester England. I begin with these two events because I believe they are the two best decisions I have made in my life. We have 3 incredible children, 2 boys and 1 girl. We decided to start a family right after we were married. I also continued to get my education. Working and going to school starting a family all at the same time was how our life began together. Times were lean but fun. I eventually received a degree in Finance and I currently own a Mortgage Banking company. Our family is very close. We enjoy doing many things together. We enjoy playing many sports, we also enjoy playing music together. We even have a little family band. We also ride horses, we ride four-wheelers, we ski and wakeboard, we enjoy the beach, we love to travel together but mostly we just like to hang out together talk and laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I do not believe many people considered me as a religious person. I say this not because I was a bad person but just because my demeanor was such. I just didn't see how religion fit into my life. I was raised in a Mormon family with great parents but I had my own ideas. I never intended to serve a mission for our church, but God had other plans for me. When I was 18 years old I had a spiritual experience that changed my life forever. You could say I was "born again" I did learn that God was real, and that he knew me and cared about me personally. I also learned that he had different path for me to follow. It was at this time that I accepted Christ into my life and I was converted to the Gospel. It was then that I knew that I must serve a mission. I was then called to serve a fulltime mission to Manchester England. While there I had the chance to serve my Father in Heaven on a full time basis putting all my personal wants and desires aside. This had a profound affect on my life. I was able to see the hand of God use me in other people's lives . . . I learned that this was Gods Church and he was directing it. These experiences have carried over into my life as a husband and a father. I still feel his promptings today in my daily life. I know that he is there. I cannot deny that he loves and cares about us individually and that he listens to our prayers and wants us to know him. Because I know that God is real, That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a very active person. I seem to be on the go all the time but I would have to say that my faith is the driving force behind everything that I do. I have a faith centered life... I am currently the Branch President of a Young Single Adult congregation of our Church. In layman terms that basically means I am the Pastor for a group of 18-30 year old, young, full of life unmarried Mormons. I absolutely love this assignment! Before having that assignment for 6 years I was an early morning seminary teacher for 25-30 high school students. These young dedicated students would come to my home at 6:30am every school morning for a bible study class. I absolutely loved that assignment as well. I love being around the young people and watching them grow and come to understanding of their true potential. I am amazed at the strength these young people show as they strive to live in a world with so many distractions but still hold to the knowledge that they have, that they are truly sons and daughters of God and therefore live accordingly. They give me a real hope for the future and I am thankful to be apart of their lives.
