Hi I'm Michelle

I was born in Guatemala. I play music and dance. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four girls and I love it. I love being around people and getting to know them and I love being involved in school and activities where I can make new friends. I am not the best at it, but making music and dancing are some of my greatest joys. I play the viola and guitar, and I love to sing. I was born in guatemala and immigrated when I was nine. I love being hispanic, the culture is great and the food is delicious. Nutrition is awesome! I think healthy food is the best, especially my mom's whole wheat pancakes. I am a huge nerd, but I am okay with that. I am currently going to BYU in Provo and it is amazing! I want to travel all over the world and see new places, meet new people, and learn about different cultures. I am not the most punctual individual, and I am a terrible speller, but I am working on that. I love the smell of coffee, and christmas makes me happy. One day I will be able to spin on my head. I want to make a difference in people's lives and one day me an amazing mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born into one of the few mormon families in Guatemala. As I grew I began more and more to apply the teachings that I had received at church such as studying my scriptures, making a bigger effort in daily prayer, or trying to be a peacemaker at home, and I realized that I became a much happier person. I realized that the promises that were given to me by Hevenly Father in this church where indeed true and real. This created a feeling of yearning to learn more and to do everything I could to be a better mormon, a better follower of Christ. For it is Christ that has made it possible for me to become happy and fulfill my purpose in coming to this Earth. It is through him, and only him that I can make it back to my Heavenly Father and Mother and have the gift of eternal life. I love Him and will forever be indebted to his mercy and perfect love. I have witnessed the power in God's plan and purpose of it. There have been trials in my life that were specifically given to me to mold me into a stronger and better person. I am grateful for those trials, because though they are difficult, I have strengthened my relationship with God and my testimony has grown. I have seen miracles through trusting Him. I have prayed and pondered enourmously about this church and know with certainty and conviction, that it is the true church of Hevenly Father and Christ and I thank him for letting it be a part of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying hard to make it a part of my everyday life and sharing the joy it brings me with others. I believe it is the little and simple things that make a difference in the way I live my life. Things like going to seminary or institute, attending church meetings and participating in the lessons given, doing my personal scripture stury and prayer, writing in my journal, trying to be a good example, and working on serving everyone around me. It is those things that remind me of the "grand scheme of things", of the plan that God has for me. They help me to have a Christ-like mind set and achieve joy. Letting people know about that joy that I feel from living my faith is very important to me as well. The gosple is a precious and incredible treasure that brings lasting happiness and huge blessings, so I want to ensure that I let poeple know of that. Why would I want to keep something so valuable to myself?
