Hi I'm Jodie

I am a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Florida and moved to Washington 4 1/2 yrs ago with my husband and son. I have been married a little over 6 yrs. I have 2 children and I am lucky enough that I get to stay home with them. I am a convert to the church and have been a member for a little over 6 yrs. I have struggled with depression off and on through my teens to now. Some days are better than others. I love to read and sing.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my parents never really took me to church. I was baptized in the baptist church when I was 12. I stayed somewhat active with the church all through high school. After graduating high school, I pretty much stopped going to church. I believed in God and I knew that he loved me. I started dating my husband and I knew he was a member of the LDS church. I didn't know much about the church, but I knew that I loved him and I needed to know more about this church that he belonged to. After several months of thinking about taking the church discussion lessons, I decided I was just going to do it. I began taking the discussions with the missionaries without telling my now husband. I wanted to do this on my own without feeling like I was pressured. It is kind of hard to explain, but talking with the missionaries just made so much sense to me. I had always thought that when you pass away, you live with your family forever. It wasn't until talking with the missionaries that I realized I truly could have a forever family. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants the best for me. Joining the church has changed my life in so may ways. Wonderful ways! I have been blessed beyond my dreams and I know without having the church in my life, my life would be so very different. I have a testimony of this church. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

Knowing I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father makes me want to be the best me that I can be. I strive daily to keep the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father. Several things you might notice about me is I dress modestly, as do my children. I do not use profanity and truly try to treat others with respect and love.
