Hi I'm Ashley Hogue

I'm a ballet dancing, motorcycle riding, animal loving, church going social butterfly. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since the age of 3 my mother has always enrolled me in dance classes. I have been tapping and twirling down the grocery aisles, in my room, up the sidewalk, and on stage all my life. I competed in many different dance categories such as Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip Hop all across the United States through the age of 17 . However, when I was nine years old, I was swept away by the beauty and grace of Ballet. I decided to focus on Ballet and by the time I was a sophomore in high school, I was accepted into a professional ballet school. At this same time, I was a Varsity Cheerleader at my Catholic high school. In the midst of dance and cheer in high school, I went through something I never thought would happen. My best friend's little sister died from a drug overdose. This is when my life began to change. I decided that I needed to do something bigger than myself. This is when I chose to work in Law Enforcement. Since then I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and got married to a wonderful man. We have 3 dogs (who are like our kids) and hope to have children soon! I continue to be in Law Enforcement and love every minute of it. Being in Law Enforcement makes me feel like I am making a difference in our ever changing world by showing faith, hope and love to those who may not feel anything at all. This makes me happy and I know it is what I am called to do while on Earth!

Why I am a Mormon

In high school, I was voted, "Most likely to Argue Religion". I was a Non-Denominational Protestant Christian attending a Roman Catholic High School. It was not uncommon for me to get called into the Theology teachers classroom after hours to discuss why I had to argue with them about church doctrine. I argued with them only because I knew what what I was learning was not completely satisfying my desire for spiritual answers. I felt like there was more to this life than just living and, "trying" to make good decisions to make it into Heaven. When I was introduced to the Missionaries, I knew that there was something different about this church because I never felt like I needed to argue. I felt like everything just made sense. I was relieved to finally find a church that was sincere with it's members and actually cared about their well-being for not just their time on earth but most of all, Eternally. I am a Mormon because I believe that I can achieve eternal life with my Heavenly Father through repentance and persistence. I am a Mormon because I know that my family will be together forever. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior. But most of all, I am a Mormon because because I know that I have found a higher truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example. :0)
