Hi I'm Lori

I'm a mother. I'm a wife. I'm a volunteer. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have six wonderful children and they are my primary focus right now! I enjoy volunteering and helping at their school and in other activities they are involved in. I love to learn new things and work through new experiences. I'm teaching an online Biology class and I am learning new skills as I try to effectively teach and connect with people online through blogs, e-mails, and conferencing. I enjoy spending time with my family, extended family, and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon by faithful and loving parents with 7 younger brothers and sisters. I am married to a wonderful man who is a faithful Mormon. However, I have a strong and living faith and testimony of my own. I have read and studied my scriptures and prayed and asked my Heavenly Father for my own witness of truth, throughout my life. This has come to me line upon line, step by step, in small and simple ways. And I continue to learn and grow. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I feel peace, power, direction, and strength as I read it. Through this, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the priesthood has been restored. I know that we have a prophet, President Monson, to lead us and guide us today, the same as in ancient days. I have received happiness and blessings as I've followed the prophet. I have gained a powerful testimony of Christ's boundless compassion and love by reading the New Testament and the Book of Mormon, and feeling His love in my life. I am thankful for my Savior, and for the cleansing and healing power of His atonement.

How I live my faith

I try to share the love and light I feel from the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those around me. This starts with my family. I want our home to be a place of peace and refuge for my children and my husband. We have a pattern we follow . We start our day with family breakfast (my husband cooks for us!), family scriptures and prayer and end the day with family dinner, good books, family prayer, and good-night hugs. This helps us to connect as a family and invite Christ into our lives each day. I serve as a Young Women Summer Camp Director-- I help plan meaningful and fun activities for a 4 day mountain retreat- to help our young women develop friendships, faith in Christ, and confidence in themselves. We have a great time planning and attending camp! I also serve as the organist for our Sunday Sacrament Meetings. I love to share my gratitude for my many blessings by accompanying sacred music.
