Hi I'm Todd

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a certified scuba diver. I go to school to become an airframe and power plant mechanic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a senior in high school and loving it. I am attending a technical school to become a pilot or an airframe and power plant mechanic. Though I want to join the Air Force, I hesitate at that option because I am not sure how I can raise a family, like my parents did, while in the Air Force. I am a Venture scout and I have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.. Through scouts I discovered scuba diving and fell in love with it. I hope to one day become the master of sky and sea. I have four siblings and two wonderful parents. When I was eight years old my oldest brother passed away of rhabdomyosarcoma (in other words cancer). Though I remember crying I don't feel like I really knew what happened. It was probably easier for me because my birthday was the day after. Though now I am saddened by the fact that I never really knew him, I have a testimony that I will have that chance to know him. Today his example has influenced my life. My favorite story of him is from the weekend after his first chemotherapy treatment. My parents couldn't find him in the house and then they heard the lawn mower outside. They came out to see him mowing the lawn even though he had to be feeling very week and sick. Since hearing that story I have recently tried to work harder and complain less. I love my family, I love my brother and I actually love school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Though I never went inactive it wasn't until I was about fifteen years old when I decided to be fully converted to the Church. Though most people will look at my life and decide that I have lived an easy one so far I can attest that I have struggles and many weaknesses. I have tried other options to find happiness but the only one that has worked is living the standards of the church. I know that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer. Though repentance is hard it is well worth it. I used to try and overcome sin by trying to figure out how Satan is going to attack me. That tactic does not work. One day the thought came to my mind that I am not smarter than Satan, but I am stronger and I have tools such as prophets and the scriptures to help me everyday.. My testimony is that I am a child of God, that God loves me and has sent prophets to teach, and His Son, Jesus Christ, to save mankind. God knows me personally as well as all of his children on earth. He loves us enough to have sent his beloved son to pay the price of our souls and redeem mankind from sin. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I am preparing myself to serve a mission for the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and participating in the youth activity that happens once a week. My dad and I go to visit three families to check on how they are doing and to give them a message that the prophet or one of his counselors recently have given. I also try and live my faith through my everyday actions. I look for opportunities to serve everyday and have made a goal to uplift someone everyday. I am constantly striving to keep the commandment and become more like Jesus Christ, our savior.
