Hi I'm Linda

I am a mom and grandmother. Retired from federal government service of 35 years. A convert of 38 years. I'm a happy Mormon.

About Me

I'm the mother of a son and daughter and grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren. I am retired and enjoy the good life. I live in a retirement community with many amenities for those of us age 55 and over. I am a member of a well known marching group of senior ladies who are physically fit and march in several winter parades in Arizona, the biggest being the Fiesta Bowl Parade. I love football, good movies, good plays, playing games and being with my family, to name a few.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1970 the first missionaries contacted me after a referral from my grandmother who had joined the church earlier. I investigated at that time but was not interested in making the many changes in my lifestyle that needed changing. In 1973, however, due to the efforts of co-workers and family members, I again investigated the church This time I was more diligent in reading the scriptures and praying for an answer as to whether or not the Book of Mormon was true and whether or not Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet. I received a powerful witness and answer that indeed....they were both true. I was amazed and awestruck with the answer I received and was baptized soon thereafter. I made the necessary changes that were necessary to be baptized and I've been ever so grateful that the Lord answered my prayers in the affirmative.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving where I am called to serve. In the past I have served in the youth and womens auxiliaries of the church in many capacities. I currently visit many women in our ward either in their homes, nursing homes or hospitals as I am the first assistant to our ward womens' auxiliary president. I also am involved with helping organize and choosing teachers for our womens' organization. I try to keep the commandments and help those in my family and in the ward who need my help and assistance. I feel as if I am a "work in progress" and try to follow the Savior's example. I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and they know I really do try to be the best I can be...although not nearly perfect.
