Hi I'm Rachel

I'm an athlete, musician, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU. The college life is hard, but definitely a lot of fun and full of many awesome opportunities! I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church. I have been called to serve in the El Salvador San Salvador West/Belize mission. I cannot wait to be able to bring the joy and happiness to the lives of the people of these countries. I know that it will only be by the power of the spirit that the people will be taught. I know that through me, the spirit will be able to teach these people. I also love to play sports, especially soccer and basketball. I love spending time with my family, they're the best. I play the piano :) I am grateful for my wonderful mother for sticking it out over the years, making sure I practiced, and helping me get better at it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into a strong Mormon family. My parents taught me the importance of the gospel and how to live it. When I was younger, I lived off the testimonies of my parents and other church leaders around me. When I hit the age of about 15, I decided that it was time for me to decide for my own if the church really was true or not. I read the Book of Mormon and then prayed about it at the end. I did not receive any booming answer or anything like that, but I felt calm and I knew that everything written in that book actually had happened. I am Mormon because I know the teachings of this gospel are true. I know that without this gospel I would not be able to make it back to my Heavenly Father's presence. I am Mormon because it teaches me to have good morals. I am Mormon because I know it is true, and I love it!

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I attend our church services which is always a great experience. I have the opportunity to take the sacrament each week to renew my baptismal covenant with our Father in Heaven. I strive to read and study my scriptures on a daily basis. I have found that when I pray before reading them, the information comes more easily to me. Prayer is a big part of my life. I know that we can all pray at any time, any place, and anywhere. Heavenly Father is always there, waiting for us to come unto Him. He wants to help us, but we have to do our part before He can reach out and help us. I have said many prayers throughout my days, just about little things, and I know He hears me.
