Hi I'm Hannah Gasinski

I'm a donut enthusiast, a competitive ballroom dancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at Brigham Young University where I am a Geography: Global Studies major and I compete in ballroom dance! I love to sing, especially in the shower or when I'm driving to school. I have a bucket list a mile long, where most of the activities on the list have to do with traveling the world, meeting new people, learning new languages and experiencing other cultures. I LOVE movies and films. Love love love them. The ones that make me cry are my favorites. And lastly, I love my little puppy dog, Gus Gus. He's my best friend and OH SO CUTE.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel, but I gained my own testimony very early on in life. Some people say that it's harder to be a faithful member if you are raised in the church because you're forced to participate, but I completely disagree. I am a mormon because I know it to be true. Through diligent prayer and the confirmation through the Holy Ghost, I have come to this light and knowledge. I have a very strong testimony of Joseph Smith the Prophet. What human being in their right mind would die for something if it wasn't true? I know for sure that I wouldn't. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and know that it is the most correct book on the earth. I know that it is our lifeboat in the sinking ship of a world that we live in today and if we utilize it, it can help us to reach our ultimate goal of becoming more like Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that I am a daughter of God, that he loves me more than I can comprehend. I know and love that I have my own personal relationship with him. I know that Jesus Christ created the earth with the direction of Heavenly Father and that he atoned for our sins although he was perfect. After being able to utilize the atonement in my own life time and time again, I have felt the peace and grace that comes only through the Savior's atoning power. I know that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer, Brother, Savior and Friend and I love him.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon in the Ballroom Dance Community isn't exactly the easiest thing in the entire world. I struggle with finding modest dance costumes that still flatter my figure and my dancing. It is also difficult when I wear my modest costumes at competitions, and have to compare my costumes to the other girls my age. Even though it is difficult, modesty and virtue are values that are very important to me as I know who I am as a Daughter of God. I know that as I share my example and dress modestly, not only do I encourage virtue, but I am showing respect for the body that Heavenly Father has given me. I am leaving soon to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Melbourne, Australia speaking Mandarin Chinese! I am SO excited but also terrified. Yet...I love the gospel, I love my Savior, and I know that only good things come from service to the the Lord and to his children.
