Hi I'm Amber!

I'm a music major. I eat chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty normal college student...well, as normal as crazy goes. I'm a music student living here in the Pacific Northwest and as insanely cheesy as it sounds, I absolutely love my life. There are some amazing people here who have helped me regain my focus on the truly important aspects of life. I am loud, crazy, and laugh at everything awesome. I hold fast to my friends and family and even harder with my faith. I love chocolate and the littlest things in life. If there is one thing I try hardest to do, it's to find pure joy in every activity I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church so it was more of a no-brainer for me that I was going to go to church. Through my childhood and youth, I did what I saw everyone doing and what I had been taught. It wasn't until my senior year in high school that I started to think maybe I wasn't really doing this for myself, only because it was what as expected on me. I was getting tired of people telling me how strong I was in the gospel when I didn't really feel like it was something I was focusing on. When I graduated, thank goodness the Lord whacked me on the head and basically told me I was being stupid - during this period on time of transitioning (from high school to college) I realized that even though the Gospel was the only thing I had known, it was the right thing. There were other things that I realized that I needed (and still need) to work on and life is still a struggle for me, but I now know with a surety that Christ lives and if I was only one on the earth, He would still come down and die for me because He loves me. I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me, I have felt their love many times. This is a good church with prophets called of God to help us live in a world where moral virtues are becoming lost. Without this church, I know that I would have a very different view of the world and I would be living differently. I am so grateful that our Heavenly Father has given us a way to return back to Him.

How I live my faith

Some days are harder than others...I'm not gunna lie. Sometimes it's just really hard to be nice, or to read my scriptures, or pray. However, I cannot afford to go without communing with God. There are some temptations that Satan knows will bring me down and I am determined to do everything from letting Satan have me. The easiest way to remind myself of Christ, is through loving everyone. Ya...sounds cheesy but trust me! It's so much fun! Getting to know someone and seeing their beauty and God's love for them makes me feel so happy and I've always felt it's the closest feeling to God. It's so wonderful! I wish that everyone could understand how happy it makes me!
