Hi I'm Jack Winn Nielsen

I love all sports, Batman is my fav hero, I love the lake, and I'm currently serving a 2-year mission in Brazil. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a town in PHX, AZ called Ahwatukee. For as long as I can remember I have always loved life! I graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in 2011. In high school I kept myself very involved. I played football, lacrosse, and created a student pep club called the Zoo Krew. I love having a great time and I am always looking for an adventure. Whether it's a day out on the lake wakeboarding, or chasing the wild javelina that roam the streets of Ahwatukee, I am always looking for some sort of adventure. After high school I attended Mesa Community College for a year and worked as a manager at a local smoothie store. In Novemeber 2012 I left home to serve a two year mission for the church. I am serving in Belo Horizonte Brazil (East of Sau Paulo) and I love it! I have learned so much in the time I have already served. My Portuguese can always use more work though! I have an outstanding life and have loved every minute of it. Being the baby of five and having a huge age gap between my sibilings and I, I have found many blessings in my life. I currently have 6 neices and newphews with one due in Jan. 2013. All of my sibilings are great to me and I truthfully have the two best parents in the world. I have an awesome life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church from day one. Once I entered High School and my eyes were opened to the world I realized I needed to find who I was and what I wanted. I tried various groups of friends, different clubs, and different sports. I always found groups that made me temporarily happy, but never anything I wanted. After a junior year in high school full of up and downs I decided I needed to surround myself with people who had the same standards as myself. As an attempt to enter into a new group of friends I asked a girl in the group that I also really liked, to our Senior Homecoming. It was awesome! Before I knew it this girl and I were dating! After a couple months of dating we hit a wall. Her and I being different religions, we knew one of us had to join the others lifestyle, or we had to break up. We both agreed to explore each others avenues. After exploring each others lives she became extremely interested in Mormons and the religion. Once she figured out we weren't a bunch of weirdos she enjoyed what she was learning. After two years of investigation and going against her parents will, she was baptized early November 2012. Throughout her conversion process I saw the changes and sacrfices she made in her life, and I was also able to see the blessings and happniess that she received for lining herself with Christ. Her conversion ended up changing my life as much as hers. I am eternally grateful for he role as to why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

At this moment in my life I am literally living my faith. I am spending two years of my life trying to bring others into this church that I love! For two years I won't be able to watch tv, text friends, facebook, date, swim, and many more things. Heck, I can only call home twice a year and email/write once a week! These may seem like huge unecessary sacrificies to make to simply serve a mission. Well I promise you in the short time I've been on my mission I have seen myself grow a ton and develop many great attributes. More importantly I have seen joy addded to many peoples life! No social network or tv show could compare to the miracles and blessings I have seen on my mission. Prior to my mission I loved being a Mormon. I was very involved in my high school which had 2500+ students and there were only about 40 or so Mormons when I graduated. I was quickly labeled as the Mormon kid, and I loved it! In football if I ever made a big play the student section "Zoo Krew" would chant "Stormin' Mormon!" I wore my title with pride. I was never quick to push my religion on my friends and peers, but I was also never scared to share my beliefs or views. I have never been ashamed of my beliefs and I am proud of the life I live.
