Hi I'm Vanessa

I'm an avid Pinterest 'Pinner'. I'm a reader and a dreamer. I'm a newly wed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello my name is Vanessa. I am an academic counselor at a local university. I graduated from college in 2009 with my Bachelors degree in Athletic Training. When I was in my senior year of college I decided that I did not really want to pursue athletic training so I decided to go a different direction. I am the oldest of five kids, I have three sisters and one brother. I recently got married to the man of my dreams for time and all eternity in the Temple. I love going on road trips, especially when they are spur of the moment. I love to read and watch movies. I love playing with my nieces and nephew and little cousins. I really enjoy crocheting, it is pretty relaxing. I love finding and trying new recipes. I have been cooking consistently since my husband, Andrew, and I have been married and so far I have not repeated a recipe. By doing this I have become a better cook, and have become adept to finding things to cook with on sale items :). I like to hike and be out doors. I really like the spring time when baseball season starts back up! I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for all my life. I absolutely love it! It has been such a blessing to have such a constant support in my life. I am excited to start a family and to share my love for the gospel with my future kiddos.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense to me. It brings me undeniable peace and comfort. Even though I do not know everything there is to know about this amazing gospel, I do know how it makes me feel. It makes me feel complete. I KNOW that I have a purpose here on earth. I KNOW that Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to return to live with Him again. I can not imagine not knowing that, and not having that absolute surety of where I come from and where I am headed. I am Mormon because I choose to be, and because I love the church and what it stands for.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. Everyday I can only do the best that I can, and I am ok with that. I have come to learn that as long as we are living the way that the Lord would want us to, doing all we can is enough, and Heavenly Father will pick up where we fall short. I live my faith by doing all that I can. When kids are growing up in the church they are taught that they need to read the scriptures, say prayers, and act as Christ would. We call these the "Primary" answers. I have found that by doing these simple things, these "primary" things, I am happier, things are easier to comprehend, my relationships are better with my family, and I have more peace in my life.
