Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married over twenty years and have a six year old son. I work in sales, but I am also a firearms instructor and a novelist. I served a two-year mission to Chile and speak fluent Spanish. I've specialized in Latin American sales and marketing for more than two decades. My father was in the US Navy for thirty years. Therefore, I grew up in a naval housing and around the military. My father is a convert to the LDS church and our family was sealed together when I was an early teenager. Because of this I have a great appreciation for the sacrifices of both the military and coverts alike. Having lived and worked on five different continets, I have seen many of the wonders of the world. I have also gained a great appreciation for mankind's desire for freedom. I love our Constitution and believe it was devinely inspired. I am actively involved in my community; supporting good men and women to lead and represent us. After years of trying to start a family, my wife and I adopted our son. He is deaf, but through the miricle of cochlear implants he can hear. Rasing a deaf child has presented many difficulties, but my wife and I have grown to appreciate all we've learned and experienced. After several years of private school, where he learned to hear with his implants. Today, my son is mainsteamed and is doing well in first grade. Once again, this helps me to better understand those with special needs and their caregivers.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of the diverse background of my life, I have learned that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the great equalizer. It does not matter where you are from, what challenges you face, what traditions you grew up with or what language you speak. The blessings of Jesus Christ will change your life. I am grateful that my family is sealed for eternity and that I have been blessed with the knowledge that I am a child of God. I have felt His hand in my life and seen His blessings in many others. I know that God lives and love each of us individually.

How I live my faith

I am active in my ward and stake. Currently, I am the membership secretary in my ward. That means I help organize and keep the records of the members including when someone is baptized, ordained to a priesthood office, or when a family has a new child. I enjoy being a part in the BIG moments of others lives. Seeing their happiness is a great blessing.
