Hi I'm Thara

I am a wife, mother of 3 very energetic boys, full time college student, work out junky, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 12 children, a wife of the most wonderful man who is the youngest in his family, mother of 3 boys who teach more than I realize, a college student who fights the battle of proper balance every day, youth leader at church who sometimes feels stuck at age 17, and a work out junky who desires to be healthy amongst the craziness. Often the Temple is the only place that can clear my fuzzy mind.

Why I am a Mormon

Besides the fact that the church is true, there are a few different reasons why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ today. The first aspect that influenced me being a Mormon was my family. I grew up in a Mormon family. Although, as a child I found myself relying on their belief and as I got older there came a time when I needed to know for myself if this was the right place for me to be. Through much trial I have gained a firm testimony that this is where the Lord would have me be. I feel so blessed to have found this truth for myself and therefore am able to share it with my children who will at their time need to know for themselves, just as I did. It is my hope that they will test the Lord with an open and sincere heart.

How I live my faith

This is daily, minute by minute for me. My dad always taught us that the hardest battles are the ones fought within the chamber of your own. I never really grasped what his words meant until I really have sought to put aside the natural man tendencies. Some consistent basic things me and my family does to live our faith include the following: daily we pray as a family, daily we read scriptures as a family (with our kids this sometimes means one verse), we say a blessing on all our meals, weekly we go to church, monthly we fast, monthly my husband and I attend the Temple. Currently I work with the youth of the church. Sometimes I teach the Sunday lesson and I take part in planning and executing the activities we do during the week. The ultimate goal of the youth program is to strengthen their testimony in Jesus Christ while they are experiencing their crucial part of life.
