Hi I'm Sue :)

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 53 yrs old, a very proud mother of 4 children and 3 grandchildren. My life has been a roller coaster of adventures - exciting, challenging, happy and sad. I love to to be outside, hiking, walking, mountain biking, swimming, etc. I love animals, and my golden retriever is my best friend. But more than that, I love to play with my grandkids! I can't think of anything that has brought me more happiness than my children and grandchildren. I have taught aerobics, run one marathon and lots of shorter road races, and am a 4th degree black belt. I had a karate school up until 11 years ago when we moved to Washington, and loved teaching kids and seeing them grow in skill and confidence. Since then, we have lived in Washington State and then Colorado, where I have replaced that activity with the outdoor activities mentioned above. I've been married to my husband for 24 years. My life has been a series challenging and exciting events that I wouldn't change for anything. It's always exciting to see what's around the next corner.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church my whole life. My parents were married in the Salt Lake temple and I was raised learning all about the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I've never had any doubts as to the truthfulness of the scriptures or the reality that Heavenly Father has a prophet on the earth today to lead His children. It makes perfect sense to me. There was a time in my life when I was not active in the church, but I never lost my testimony. I always knew that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God sent to Earth during this time to restore the fullness of His gospel. We need it now more than ever with all that is happening in the world around us. My faith and my family are my most valuable gifts and I thank Heavenly Father at least daily for the priviledge of being born at this time in the history of the Earth, in this country, to a family who was already a member of the church. Think of the odds of that! The church has given me opportunities that I would never have had otherwise. I've had the opportunity to teach little children, teenagers, adults, speak in front of large and small audiences and build my leadership skills. It's not always easy, but life was never meant to be easy. We are to stretch and learn and grow as much as possible so that we're able to teach and serve those around us. I have a very strong testimony that this church is the same church that Jesus organized when He was here. He leads our church today though our living prophets and I continue to strive to be the best that I can so that I can be worthy of His sacrifice and atonement.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Presidency of the childrens organization as the 2nd counselor. I LOVE the kids in my ward! I have previously served as the Young Women's President, teacher for the youth in Sunday School, and the little children in Primary. I have always accepted the callings that have been extended to me, even if I think it's scary. It's always turned out well, and I always end up learning a lot and loving my what I do.
