Hi I'm Allison

I'm a Texan, a newly wed, an antique magnet, and a lover of anything and everything that is perfectly imperfect. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate and a recent newly wed. I left my roots in Texas to start my new life with my husband and have loved every minute of it. I love the beach and will always be convinced that Texas has the best beaches. I am an experienced junker and have a special love for vintage everything. My dream is to open my own antique shop one day. My pursuit to start a career in my field of study was not an option due to a failing economy. Although it's been a challenge, my family, husband, and this gospel have all helped me to recognize the many blessings in life that I have now, regardless of having that ideal job or not. Life has been so sweet to me and I try to make the most out of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. Always have, always will. It is the source of happiness in my life. Knowing that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us helps my trials seem bearable as I put things into better perspective. The scriptures have always lifted me up in my life. I have found that consistent scripture study helps me stay in tune, helping me make righteous decisions every day. The scriptures help me to learn and feel closer to my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ, and they are a great possession of mine, above any antique I've owned. I love my family dearly and know that credit is due to the values and principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ that my parents taught us growing up. I respect and love every member of my family as they have been such a great example and friend to me. To sum it all up, I am Mormon because it all just makes sense. All the pieces to the puzzle are there. The more I learn, the more I understand to be true. Jesus Christ is at the head of our church with a prophet to lead and guide us today. Joseph Smith restored the gospel for us to have in these latter days. What a comfort it is to have this knowledge in my life.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have the noble calling of being the ward librarians! We are the best at making copies, supplying chalk, and maintaining a huge lost and found. We love being involved. Our calling has blessed us by helping us make friends and help meetings run smoothly. It is always a bit intimidating moving into a new ward, but it is amazing how people in the church have the same goal of making friends and getting involved. Every ward I have moved into has never failed at making me feel welcome. I live my faith daily by scripture study and prayer. Also living by example and finding ways to serve others are every day goals of mine.
