Hi I'm Shanna

I'm a wife, a mother of twins, an RN and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Native to Arizona, born and raised! I am the second oldest of 5 kids and have 3 wonderful sisters and one great brother. I have always loved kids since I was a little girl, I begged my mom to always have another baby. I dreamed of the day when I could be a mother and a wife, it was all I really wanted. I played College volleyball at Eastern Arizona College where I was hoping to meet my dream man. Well it didn't happen and I was feeling "old", ya at 20 years young!!! I decided to go on a Joseph Smith history tour back east with 50 young single adults. It was the best decision I have ever made! I met my eternal companion on that trip and I knew from the moment I saw him that we would be together forever. Now we have been married for almost 7 years! Life has been busy the past 3.5 years. Job changes, my hubby working out of town, me going through nursing school, blessed with twin boys, moving, and all the little things in between. We are loving life and feel eternally blessed for our sweet boys and a little girl coming in January 2012!! I work as an RN part-time for a home health company and also do flu shots. I also love to cook, play volleyball, read, talk on the phone, blog, and craft in my spare time. My sweet boys are now in preschool and loving it. We stay busy but feel so blessed and life is great!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a lot of friends and I loved to be with them. I was very involved in my high school, I was in the student council, played on the volleyball team and was even voted Homecoming Queen my senior year. But I struggled; my friends were of all different religions none of which were LDS except one. I struggled with always wanting to "fit in". Although life was hard during those years I never doubted my testimony and I have always known the church to be true. I feel incredibly blessed to be a member of the gospel. It has made me who I am and gives me strength everyday. Life can be tough and I pray everyday to have the spirit with me so that I can be the best mom and wife to my wonderful family. As I struggle as a young mom I know in my heart that I am never alone. My Savior has been with me through every struggle of my life. He is truly the only one who knows how I feel at times. He is my friend, my example, my light, my Savior. I am not perfect and I make mistakes and how eternally grateful I am for the atonement. We can be forgiven for sins whether big or small. So I guess the answer to the question "Why I'm a Mormon" is... it makes my life easier. As I strive to have exaltation and an Eternal family the gospel is helping me to achieve these goals. Also because I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is the true church and I have received personal revelation that it is true. How grateful I am that I chose to be baptized at the age of 8. When I received the Holy Ghost that day it was the best gift of my life, it guides me everyday. I will end with my favorite scripture... 1 Nephi 4:6 "And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things that I should do"

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith everyday! I try to serve and help others the most that I can. I serve my family constantly and always have the best intentions in my heart. I plan Family Home Evening, I read the Book of Mormon daily, I strive to read the Ensign, I say my prayers, attend the temple, I try and teach my children the commandments and although it can be a battle, I feel blessed. I also work with the 8 year old scouts and enjoy my calling with these boys. I know in my heart if we strive to live the Commandments of the gospel each and every single day that we truly will be blessed and I have felt and seen those blessings in my own home.
