Hi I'm Sister Kellyn Bennett

Born and raised in Lakewood, Washington. I am currently serving as a missionary in Morristown, New Jersey. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Lakewood, Washington and am a senior in college at Utah State University. I am dual majoring in early childhood and elementary education. I have a love for the outdoors, rock-climbing, animals, attending concerts, traveling and spending time with friends and family! I also have an immense love for my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. This past year I received revelation to serve an LDS mission and am currently serving in the New Jersey Morristown Mission and am LOVING IT.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and ever since I was a baby the gospel has always been apart of my life. I will admit that at times I take being a member of this church for granted because it has been apart of my life for so long, but I would never want to change that. I've chosen to remain Mormon all of my life because of the promises that are to come if I remain faithful. As a Mormon I know I am never alone because I always have the comfort of the Holy Ghost or the "still, small voice" with me. I also always have the comfort of my Savior and Heavenly Father. Because of Christ and His Atonement, I can always feel at peace because He understands anything and everything I'm going through. He felt every pain imaginable for me and for all of us. I have a testimony of the Atonement. It is so real. I also have a testimony of eternal marriages and eternal families. In my family we spend a lot of time together and I would never want to imagine losing them. Ever. With the gospel it allows me to gain an eternal perspective on life and know that families can be sealed together for time and all eternity in the temple. Temple marriages are such a wonderful, sacred blessing and I am grateful to know that I will have the opportunity to be married in the temple someday and be sealed to my own family. I also value my relationship with my Heavenly Father and within the gospel we are able to develop a close relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through daily prayer, scripture study, and by living the gospel standards. I can't imagine not having my Heavenly Father or Christ's presence in my life. Lastly, I am a Mormon because I want to return to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again someday and that is made possible through the plan of salvation or the plan of happiness. As a missionary, it is such a blessing to get to share these truths and my testimony with my fellow brothers and sisters daily. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments and heeding to the counsel of our prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I also pray and read my scriptures daily which helps me to always stay close to God and my Savior and also strengthens my testimony. I accept and fulfill my callings or "duties" at church. I was recently a ward missionary in my YSA ward and that was such an awesome opportunity that helped to prepare me for my mission because I got to go out and teach with the sister missionaries as well as serve the members in my ward. Serving others is another way that I live my faith. In my opinion, service can be many things. Whether it's giving someone a sweet note, taking a friend out for ice cream or just taking the time to listen to someone. I just love making people feel loved and special. I feel closest to my Savior and my Heavenly Father when I'm serving others. I currently serve as an LDS missionary and serve others DAILY by sharing the Gospel and my testimony with the people of New Jersey in hopes of allowing them the opportunity to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
