Hi I'm Faby

I'm from Mexico. I have a passion for teaching. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time stay at home mom and I love it. I enjoy teaching. I went to school to become an English as a Second Language teacher and although I have not yet finished I have a passion for languages and anything that has to do with linguistics. I love baking and taking care of my house. I also enjoy reading sci fi and classic novels as well as listening to all kids of good music.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church way before I was born (before they met actually) and so I grew up mormon. Because of this, one might think that going to church for me was just a matter of habit or because my parents made me, however this is not the case at all. I remember my parents (even from the time I was very little) telling me that one day I was going to have to ask the Lord myself if what I was learning was true so that I would know for myself and not because of anyone else. My parents were also wonderful examples for me of service in the Church and outside of it. They never pushed me, but taught me by example. And the day came when I wanted to know for myself and so I asked in prayer if the Church was true, if the book or Mormon really was the word of God. For me the answer did not come at once the first time I prayed. For me it was more the little things that happened everyday, the little miracles in my life. I felt the love of the Lord through my family and felt the spirit every time I read The Book of Mormon and also the Bible and I knew that they were true. I saw the blessings that came through living the gospel and the teachings of the church. That, to me, has been a constant testimony of the truth of this gospel. I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ, I know they love me and even though I have had many chalenges in my life I know I am never alone. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet called by God to restore this gospel. Now, with my own family, I continue to see the blessing of this wonderful gospel in my life and so it continues to straighten my testimony of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

At church I work with kids 18 mo. to 11 years olds, teaching them and helping them know about the love their Heavenly Father has for them. We have lessons on sundays ( and some activities during the week too) and also learn many songs that teach them that they are Children of God. I attend church every sunday and enjoy teaching and being taught by these wonderful kids. Going to church helps me feel the love of my Father in Heaven through all the people that surround, it helps me remember Him through out the week and helps me be a better person, I don't always succeed and I have many shortcomings, but I know He loves me and I can feel of HIs love as I pray and as I go to church.
