Hi I'm Sara

I'm a runner. I'm a laugher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely LOVE to run. I ran cross country for 4 years, and now, I'm on my way to a half-marathon. Along with running, I love being outdoors and enjoying the simple complexity of nature. Outdoor activities like hiking, backpacking, and camping are some of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy laughing and spending time with people. Some of the most meaningful moments in my life were the ones where I spent hours talking to a good friend or family member. On August 21, 2013, I began serving my mission. I am committed to give my life for 18 months to the Lord and his people in Gilbert, AZ in the Spanish language. Although it is difficult, it is worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

Most of my life, I was a Catholic. Most of my family is Catholic, and I am now a Mormon. You might think, "Why would someone ever leave the religion they grew up with?" It wasn't until I experienced the empty feelings of doubt and worry that I realized I needed answers. I needed a conviction that God was there and that there was hope for the next life. I did not know what my Savior had done for me, and I did not know how deeply our Heavenly Father loved each and every one of His children. Then, God blessed me with a courageous, loving friend. She led me to the Church, the gospel, and the missionaries. With the missionaries, my best friend, and the Spirit, I began praying and learning more than ever. I began building my testimony. I began to know the truth. Today, I have peace, faith, hope, and love. Today, I have the truth. I know I can get through each day by the example and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I know God loves everyone including me and you. I know Jesus Christ's unending love has given all of us the opportunity to repent and come unto Him. I know that we can be forgiven if we pray and ask for forgiveness. I know that with our Savior, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. Why am I a Mormon? Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me the missing piece of my life--the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on what the Lord wants me to do. That includes following the commandments, repenting, and serving the Lord each day to the best of my ability. Most importantly, though, I have faith on my Savior, Jesus Christ, to heal me from my sins. Without my faith in Him and His atonement, I am nothing.
