Hi I'm Damien

I grew up in Tucson, AZ. I enjoy sports, history, politics, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the first 10 years of my life my father was in the United States Army, so I have lived quite a few places. I was born in Brooklyn, New York but have lived in New Jersey, Alaska, and Germany. We moved to Tucson, Arizona when I was 10 and that is where I remained until I moved up to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 26. At the age of 19 I left the U.S. to serve a two-year mission in Brazil. It was a fantastic experience that helpd me to mature, grow closer to the Lord, and taught me just how many wonderful people there are in this world. I love the poeple of Brazil and miss them dearly. I attended two years of community college in Tucson and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. I currently work fulltime as a website administrator. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world and we have three young children. My family means the world to me. In my spare time I enjoy watching and playing sports, reading books, following politics, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before I was born so there has never been a time when I have not had the Church in my life. While my parents' membership in the Church was the reason I attended as a youngster, I continue to go to Church as an adult for several reasons. The first reason I remain a Mormon is because I know with all my heart that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I love Him. He is my Redeemer and my Savior. I know that He is leads the Church through a living prophet, and that gives me comfort through difficult times. The second reason is the peace and joy the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. I know that He wants nothing more than for me to be happy. I know the only way for me to truly be happy, to have that peace which endures, is to keep His commandments and follow His example. The third reason is the hope the gospel of Jesus Christ brings in my life. I hope to live after death, free from worry and sorrow, with my family for all eternity. I know the only way that my hope can become a reality is by trusting in the Savior and placing my faith in Him. In short, I am a Mormon because I love, hope, and have faith in Jesus Christ, and I believe with all my heart the He established this church so that I can better get to know him and receive the blessings he desires to give me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my very best to follow the example of Jesus Christ everyday. I currently serve as a Sunday School teacher. I have the opportunity to study the gospel everyday and share what I learn with members in my class every other week. It is a wonderful opportunity to share my love for the Savior and to learn from others. I have also served recently as a scout leader for the 11-year-olds. I enjoyed their youthful excitement on camping trips and their desire to be their best. I do my best to make sure I live my faith at home. I know that it is my sacred responsibility to be the best father and husband I can be.
