Hi I'm Tom

I work in construction, I have a garden and I raise backyard chickens, I love spending time with my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Phoenix when I was young and then moved to northern Arizona when I was 8. My father always had the dream of owning his own business, so he left a good job and we all moved to a small town so he could open his own health club. I have 3 older sisters who were great examples to me growing up. I now live in Phoenix and have 3 sons and a wonderful loving wife. I enjoy spending time in the yard working in our garden and watching our chickens. We have a flock of backyard chickens and we love their eggs and watching them. Chickens are such curious, playful animals that are great to have around for our boys. My boys love to play ball (whatever it is, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, it doesn't matter), play with trucks, dig in the dirt and just be boys. My wife and I have been married for almost 10 years and I am still so grateful that I decided to marry her. She is a wonderful mother to our boys. I work in the construction industry as a supervisor and enjoy what I do. During my younger years I loved playing tennis and racquetball and hope to someday have the time to enjoy those good sports again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church and have always believed in Christ as my Savior. When I was 19 the next 'step' in life was to go on a 2 year mission for my church. It was really just expected of me and I always just knew that was what I was supposed to do. While was on my mission in Uruguay (that's in South America, I didn't know that until I went there), I had to KNOW why I was leaving my life behind to go teach these people on the other side of the world. I had prayers answered and came to know for myself that what I was teaching as a missionary was true, not because I had been told that it was true, or because my mom told me that she knew it was true but because I knew for myself that it was true. Being a member of the LDS faith helps me follow Christ, live his commandments which helps me be a nicer person, a more loving father, be a more patient and helpful husband. I am grateful that I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and is concerned about me and my family. The gospel helps me to know that there is more to life than just work and play. We are on this earth to learn, to progress and to work our way to live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to serve in my ward. I work with a great group of people who I look up to and seek to try to be better myself so that I can serve more faithfully. I have the blessing to be able to spend time with the young men in our ward and participate with them in scouting and athletic events. The young men that we have in our area are great! It is so challenging to keep the standards of the gospel in todays world but our youth do such a great job and are excellent examples to me and to my children.
