Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I teach third grade at a charter school and I love it! I have three children of my own who I get to come home to every afternoon. Before I started teaching, I had the opportunity to stay home with my children until the last one entered elementary school. I wouldn't exchange that time for the world. I enjoy reading and socializing with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes sense to me. There is great comfort knowing that there is more to life than the mundane. I love teaching my children and children at church that Jesus Christ loves us. The Holy Ghost is constantly confirming to me that this fact is true.

How I live my faith

Each week I have an opportunity to prepare a lesson and teach four and five year old children about my beliefs. It is wonderful to look into these children's faces and see that they love to learn about these things. They are excited and it renews my faith.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Equality is how you define it. I don't want to play the role of father in my family. My job is to be their mother. I will have experiences with my children that my husband will never have. While it is my husband's responsibility to work and provide for our family, now that my children are old enough, I work outside of the home as well. When it comes to important decisions in our family, my husband and I talk together. Does it matter to me that I do not hold the priesthood? Not at all. I have motherhood and that is something my husband will never have. We can't all be doctors, or there would be no one to run our country. We all have a part in life and for women our role has altered over the years, but it is still just as valuable. Show more Show less
