Hi I'm Trevin

I am a network security professional and ethical hacker. I'm a big-time college sports fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've had a strong passion for computers and technology pretty much all my life. When I was a young kid I would not sit still in church, so my dad would write out computer programs on the church program and I would try to interpret them. I studied Computer Information Systems in college and decided to become an information security professional. I currently am an ethical hacker for a major financial institution, and I completely love my job. I'm a dad, and our family loves swimming in the pool, playing games and spending time together.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life, I have felt God's guiding influence throughout my life, strengthening me through trials and challenges and giving me a more eternal perspective on things. From a young age, I've been fascinated by nature...from the microscopic complexities and intricacies of the human body to the macroscopic miracles of our vast universe, and have wondered where I came from, why I am here, what is the purpose of life and what happens when we die. Although I had been raised in the church, there came a point in my life where I wanted to know for myself if God was real and if He was aware of me and my personal joys and challenges, and if I mattered to Him. As I read and pondered the scriptures and prayed to know of their truthfulness, I was filled with indescribable feelings of peace, joy and love and found answers to my deepest questions. I know that God lives, knows and loves us, and answers our prayers when we seek Him.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed having many opportunities to serve in the various wards to which I've belonged. Currently, I am the ward clerk, which means I get to help ensure that membership records are accurate and that our bishopric and all of the many other important groups in our ward have what they need in order to function properly. I served a two-year mission in the Puerto Rico San Juan mission and have also enjoyed serving the youth of the church as a scoutmaster, advisor, and sunday school teacher.
