Hi I'm Dee

I'm a single mother, retired and have two boys and five grandchildren. I love to read and quilt. I am happy to say I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California in the '40's and '50's where Mormons were not very prevalent at the time. We went to church on a regular basis, but after graduating from high school and attending a year of college I became inactive and remained that way for many years. I ended up being married and divorced twice and the mother of two children. My eldest son joined the church when he was a senior and then went on a mission. He converted his brother when he got home from his mission. I still resisted going to church because I just didn't know how to come back. Through the moral support of good members of the church, I was able to turn my life around and have been an active member for many years.

Why I am a Mormon

Without my Savior Jesus Christ, I would not be here today. I know He has watched over me through a serious illness and a couple of bad car accidents even before I returned to His church. I know He has a plan for me and that He loves me. I am grateful to be a daughter of God and I am grateful for the sweet feeling I get whenever I am filled with His Spirit. I know that I made the right choice when I returned to His fold.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church, including president of our women's organization. I have taught young children and been a service missionary. I volunteer in the Family History Center or genealogical research library. I have found some of my pioneer ancestors, which is very exciting. I am currently serving in the Single Adult program planning dances, game nights, firesides and yearly conventions. It is a very rewarding calling and I have made many great friendships. Through visiting teaching other women in my ward, I have been able to share my testimony of Jesus Christ with inactive members. I have a deep love of my family, my heritage and my Savior. My name is Dee and I am a Mormon.
