Hi I'm Jill

I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am married with 5 children and live in Colorado.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New Mexico. My passion was gymnastics and I competed for 11 years. I met my husband on the gymnastics team in college and we have been married 19 years. We have 5 children ranging in age from 16-3. I love going to the movies and out to dinner with my husband and friends. I also enjoy watercolor painting, reading and photography.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. My husband introduced me to the church. He is a convert as well and he had joined 2 years prior to meeting me. After we had been dating for 6 months I decided to take the discussions. I grew up Catholic and we went to church periodically, so I already had a small testimony of Jesus Christ. I felt comfortable with what I was learning because it was what I already believed, however it gave me so much more. Who wouldn't want another testimony of Jesus Christ? The Book of Mormon is such a beautiful book! It has strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ and it is such a great addition to the Bible. I have a strong testimony of the restored gospel. The organization of the church is amazing. I love that the church is set up just as it was when Christ was on the earth. Having apostles and a prophet in these latter days is such a blessing! The gospel in my life brings me so much joy. I have a purpose on earth and a goal to make it back to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My purpose is to raise my family in the gospel and to help them live righteous lives.

How I live my faith

Everyone in the church is given responsibilities! There are callings to help with teaching the children, youth and adults. As well as many other callings to help the church run smoothly. All of this is done without pay. I have served in many callings, however now I am a teacher for 8 and 9 year olds. We are studying the New Testament this year. I love preparing for my lessons because I learn so much! I also am a visiting teacher. I have a partner and we visit a couple of women in our ward once a month. I have a strong testimony of visiting teaching because it helps us to know the womens' needs. When we visit we give them a spiritual message and talk with them about their life and circumstances.
