Hi I'm Whitney Ahlstrom

I am a daughter, sister, dancer, singer, student, missionary in the Dominican Republic, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Whitney and I was born and raised in the greater Seattle area! I love playing soccer and volleyball and exploring the outdoors. I play the violin and I love singing and dancing! I know American Sign Language and I am currently learning Spanish for my mission for the church! I have been raised in the church since I was born and I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life! I am just embarking on an 18 month journey to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of the Dominican Republic! I cannot wait to share with them the joy that this knowledge brings to my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and into a wonderful family with parents that love me. As I was taught about the restored gospel as a child, I never doubted what I was learning. At the age of 8 I was baptized and became a true member of this church because I had been lovingly taught that it was the right choice, that I would be blessed, and that I would become closer to God because of it. However, instead of focusing on why I became a member of the church, I would like to talk about why I am still a member. This gospel provides the answers to the common questions of who am I?, where did I come from?, and where am I going? Through its teachings, I know that I am a daughter of Heavenly Father, that I lived with Him before the creation of the world and that one day, if I am faithful, I will be able to live with Him and my savior Jesus Christ again. I find great peace and comfort from knowing that the gospel directs my life and leads me on the pathway back to my Father in Heaven. I know and love this true church. I know that our Father in Heaven knows all of His children personally and loves us despite all of our imperfections. I know that if there is ever a question or doubt that you have, you can pray to Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, and He will send you an answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. The teachings of the gospel are so simple and clear, yet also so profound and life changing. I know that this is the true church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying as hard as I can to follow in my Saviors footsteps. We are after all The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We need Him to shine though us. We are His messengers and missionaries on this earth. I know that everything we go through- both good and bad- are there for a reason and are all a part of our eternal plan that He had made for us. We must also put complete trust in Him and His Only Begotten Son. They have a greater plan for us. One greater than anything we can ever comprehend. I also try to live my faith by service. During Christ's life on the earth, He dedicated all of His time to the service of others. I know that even though I cannot always be serving, I can be always looking for service opportunities and that can make a difference in the lives of others through the service I can do.
