Hi I'm Chantall

I grew up in Othello, WA. I am studying to be a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior at a university working towards a major in Diversity in Language and Learning. I want to teach English Language Learners since I was one of them myself. I am married and my husband is working towards an Engineering Major too. We both work part time at an Elementary School District in Transportation. I love playing sports, especially basketball and soccer. Also, I really like to wakeboard and snowboard. My parents and two younger brothers still live in Washington state, which is where we hope to move after we graduate. I love to be with my family and just have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

It is not enough for me to be Mormon simply because my parents are Mormon. Both of my parents are converts from the Catholic church, but I was born into the Church. So, as an adolescent I read the entire Book of Mormon and prayed to see if it was true. I obtained my answer and know with all my heart that The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saint is true. I know that Christ lives and that He died for our sins. I know that the Plan of Salvation is true and that we are on this Earth to be tested. I know that God loves each one of HIs children and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us to return to them someday. I know that families can be together forever and I am grateful for temples. I am grateful for the family that I was given.

How I live my faith

My husband and I attend a ward in Spanish in Phoenix. I work with the children from age 3 to 12 in our ward as the pianist for the songs that they sing in Church. This program is called "Primary". Other members of the ward work together to teach them in age-appropriate classes about the standard principles and ordinances of the gospel. They also learn many songs relating to church that I play along on the piano with them.
