Hi I'm Xime

I grew up in Peru. I recently married my eternal companion and have 6 wonderful kids, 4 living with us. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I am Xime and I am a mormon! I recently married at the temple and have 6 children and 1 granddaughter. My oldest daughter and granddaughter live in Peru, in my hometown, Lima and my oldest son is now in the missionary training center and soon will be teaching the gospel in Brazil! I love to walk, sometimes jog and bike. I feel so lucky that I am able to be a homemaker, I never had this opportunity before and I enjoy it! To be there for my family, to pick up my kids from school, help them with homework, have fun and take care of their needs. Love them and care for them! I am an Industrial Engineer and Marketing specialist and used to work for a gold mining company in the hightlands of Peru in the IT area. I love the beach. Now that I am living in Texas, I am not so close to the beach, but I have the lake close by to make me feel like I still have water around me. As a family we love to swim in the ocean, lake, river or pool. I love music and most of all dancing with my husband--especially dancing in the moonlight even it's with the i-phone in our yard. We are planning to start ballroom lessons soon and for date night we can attend latin dance lessons or watch movies. Something that I like to do when I am facing new challenges is to hum songs, specially church songs. It brings peace to my heart and always keep me safe as when driving and getting used to my new city. Driving in Peru is quite a challenge but different compared to driving in the States.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because I pray with a willing and sincere heart to my Father in Heaven to know if what I read and learned from the missionaries was truth and how Him and Jesus Christ want me to live my life. I received confirmation, the Holy Spirit confirmed that the gospel of Jesus Christ was more that what I thought it was, that the Book of Mormon is God's word, a companion for the Bible, and another Testament of Jesus. I follow Jesus. In the way He taught when He was on earth and in the way He teaches now through the words of His special witness on earth, our living Prophet. I know in my heart, mind and with no doubt that Jesus lives, that my Heavenly Father is a living God, loving Father that wants me to follow His Plan for me and for my family so we can return to live with Him someday. I know that if I read my scriptures I will learn more about the Plan of Hapiness and Jesus teachings and will help me to live my life following His example. I am a mormon because I am disciple of Jesus, I want to help my family and serve them as well as others, I know He wants me not only to say that I am living a Christ like life, He want me to act upon those words. Faith without action is dead. I believe Christ that following Heavenly's Father Plan for His children while this period on earth bring me joy, understanding who I am and why I am here. I am a mormom because (as the Young women's motto mentioned) I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, who loves me, and I love Him. I will "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9) not only with my words but most of all with my actions based on my values: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue. I believe as I come to accept and act upon these values I am strengthening my home and family with the gospel, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith every day, I love my husband and my children. I study the scriptures daily and pray to God and keep a prayer in my heart that makes me feel in constant contact with Him. When I joined the church my first calling (we don't have a paid clergy so we all help) in my ward was teaching the gospel to children from 4 to 7 years old. Later I was called as the primary president, to take care of all the primary kids, teach them how to be disciples of Jesus, how to understand the promptings of the Holy Spirit, to choose the right and love and serve their families with a smile on their faces. Children are so wonderful, they are special to Jesus and Heavenly Father, and they are innocent and pure. I know that the Lord was preparing me at stages in my life and to help Him build His kingdom of love on earth. After being a working mom, I gain my growth and understanding of the gospel by acting upon Jesus teachings and serving others, facing trials and being blessed by obedience to God. When I got married my family grew in number. I married a wonderful priesthood holder, raising his own 5 children (ages 19 to 6) that loves our Heavenly Father above all, along with me and his children. I am so happy that my family and I can lead our life in faith, kneeling and praying to our Father in Heaven, studying the scriptures together and seeing the little ones learning to read while studying the scriptures. We are growing close as a family and most important as children of a loving Heavenly Father. My husband and I teach and guide our children in the way Jesus wants us to--with love, kindness, charity, tenderness, joy but also teaching them to understand and follow God's comandments and that as a family we also have rules to follow that are aligned with the commandments and what God wants us to do so we can be happy together forever. I pray that my family in Peru will receive the gospel in their lives and join the true Church of Jesus on earth.
