Hi I'm Charlie McNeil

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Estes Park, Colorado and continue to live in south Denver. I was baptized 35 years ago after marrying my beautiful wife. We have three kids who are all married and we are lucky to have them and their families live close by. I own my own business in the natural resources industry. I love spending time in the mountains, but most of all, enjoy taking time to be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel I belong to the true Church of Jesus Christ, established by him in these latter days preparatory to his second coming as he prophesized. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ, having been baptized into the Church in 1976. I have always professed Jesus as the Christ and Savior of mankind, since this belief came to me as a young boy having been raised in the Baptist church by my mother. Because of so much confusion over doctrine in the many Christian denominations, I know there needed to be more clarity of Christ' and the Twelve Apostles in the New Testament teachings and of the scripture of the Prophets in the Old Testament. I found that the Book of Mormon brought such clarity. The Book of Mormon is scripture from prophets of old in the American continent and descendants of the tribe of Joseph just like the Bible is scripture from prophets of old in the European continent and descendents of the tribe of Juda. The twelve tribes of Israel are to be gathered in the last days before the second coming of Christ and the stick of Juda (Bible) and the stick of Joseph (Book of Mormon) are the beginning of that gathering. The Book of Mormon has been revealed to us by God in our day as another testament that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah, and Savior of the World. It has not been subject to man's interpretation as the Bible has and it contains original doctrine. The truths by which I write above can be revealed to you through sincere reading of the Book of Mormon, praying to God the Father of its truthfulness and having it revealed to you through the Holy Ghost. You need to read Moroni's promise found in Moroni 10:4 and kneel in prayer to know for yourself. That is what I did and is what you need to do if you have the desire to know. Man cannot convince you of its truthfulness, only God can. May you have the desire to know the peaceable things of God and the truthfulness of the restored gospel. May God be with you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my example. Now that it has been just over 35 years since I was baptized in to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I reflect back and wonder where my life would be without the influence of the Church and its teachings. I have been married now for 40 years to my sweetheart. We have had a wonderful marriage, full of love, fidelity, trust, concern, and caring for each other. The teachings of the Church have helped keep our marriage strong. We have been married in the temple for time and eternity and our children have been sealed to us also. The blessings of the temple ordinances have been an anchor to us in our marriage and the relationship with our children. We have three wonderful children, all strong members in the church. The programs the Church has for the youth are outstanding in directing youth. I feel that without the values instilled within them by the teachings of the Church, they probably would not be who they are today. They have all been married in the temple and adhere to the covenants they have made. We all live close together and enjoy frequent family gatherings. We have 8 wonderful grandchildren, all born in the covenant of the Church. What a great joy and blessing that comes from the posterity of a family. To know that they each are spirit children of our Heavenly Father, came to earth to be born of earthly parents, to take on a mortal body to be tested and to be worthy someday to return to our Heavenly Father. Through their eyes, to understand where they came from, why they are here, and where they are going, which equally applies to each of us. What a glorious event to see each of them born, to hold them in your arms, and to realized the miracle that life really is. Just like the miracle it is of being born again through the waters of baptism. I hope you too might have the desire for family life and relationships like this and would seek out becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
