Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in Tennessee. I'm a wife and a pharmacist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from pharmacy school!!! I am finally done! Yay! I am happy to be out of school and working as a Pharmacist. I love learning about health, how we can change our lifestyles to make our bodies healthier, and how medications can help if they are needed. Now, that I'm out of school I've taken up reading recreationally again! I love to read books and then go see the movie! It's fun to compare. I like to run, play basketball, and do things outdoors. I want to learn how to play the guitar and learn to speak Spanish! Those are my next on my to do list! I love eating good food, and I'm trying to learn how to cook a variety of foods. Southern cooking is my favorite, of course, since I'm from Tennessee! My husband and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary by going to a major league baseball game. We love sports....especially basketball. I love just hanging out and talking with my family and friends. There is nothing better than a good conversation over a good dinner!

Why I am a Mormon

I am so happy to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have such a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ. I know they love each person in this world SO much. When all of the apostles were killed after Christ died, the priesthood was lost from the earth. Teachings and practices were changed or corrupted from Christ's church. The true gospel of Jesus Christ had to be restored to the earth once again. Heavenly Father called a prophet, Joseph Smith, to lead and guide His church on the earth in these latter days. God loves us just as much as he loved the people during times of Adam, Moses, Abraham, and Noah. He has called a prophet today to lead and guide his church on the earth. The world is crazy these days, and I am so happy to have a prophet on the earth to guide us through this life. The prophet receives revelation from God for all people on the earth today. The Book of Mormon was translated through revelation from God. I know it is true. It is a second witness of Jesus Christ that goes hand in hand with the Bible. It testifies of Jesus Christ and His mission on the earth. It has helped me grow closer to my father in Heaven. I know that if someone reads the Book of Mormon and truly asks God with an open heart and mind if it is true, He will make it known unto you.....just as he did to me. I feel so much love and peace when I read the Book of Mormon and pray to my Father. I am so grateful for prayer.......that I have access to the person who loves me more than anyone ever could. I know God listens to our prayers and blesses us each and every day. I am so grateful for eternal families, and I know we can live with God, Jesus Christ, our friends, and familes eternally if we obey His commandments and serve and love others. We must utilize the great and infinite Atonement, that Jesus Christ so lovingly gave to us, each and every day to repent and draw nearer to God.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and partake of the Sacrament. I teach 3 and 4 year olds in Sunday School. It is such a wonderful experience to learn from those kids. They have so much energy and love for others and for their Savior. I am a visiting teacher. I go to 2 girls' house each month to visit, chat, share a spiritual message, and see if there is any way I can help them. I pray for them, and I pray for ways that I can help them. I love to make meals for those who are sick. I am new to the area where I live, so I am trying to find some ways to get involved with the community. I want to set up or be a part of a Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) team next year. I got to particapate with this in High School, and I would like to get involved again.
