Hi I'm Candilyn

I'm a writer, a mother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I stay busy living life, being a mom and a wife and learning all can about whatever catches my interests. I'm teaching myself to paint, sew, garden, history all the while writing stories to publish. I have a bachelors in Technical Theatre (it's the backstage stuff) with a minor in English-Writing. I've even served a full-time LDS mission in Northern California. There I did a lot of service work and I helped people who left the church come back and strengthen their testimonies in the Savior and in our Heavenly Father. It was hard, amazing and full of the best experiences and the best people.

Why I am a Mormon

I may have been raised in the Mormon faith, but that didn't stop me from walking away for a time, but the world can't offer anything better than the truth that is in the Mormon (LDS) church. The wholeness and completeness of what Jesus taught and the prophets of the Bible taught are here. Here my family can be together forever. There isn't a "Til death do you part" deal; it's a for all time and eternity family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. Everyday it's a choice I make whether to pray, read and study my scriptures. I choose everyday whether to do what service that has been asked of me. I choose to love those around me and help them where I can help. Everyday I choose to follow our Savior and Heavenly Father the best I can. I mess up, but I know if I keep trying I will get divine help along the way.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

For me to know that God is real, that He is the Creator of the universe, of this world, of everything right down to us humans I just have to first use my eyes. To see the order of nature. Every living plant life grow the same, from dirt using roots and water and sun. Nature is balanced when you don't mess with it. Planets have a perfect orbit. This earth just so happens to be in the perfect spot for human and animals to live. The next thing is to see who God has put around me, they are the people I need to be the best me I can be. When my Mom died i thought my world had crashed and burned, but it didn't, it went on because of the support i got from family and friends and the comfort of the Holy Ghost. Through the Holy Ghost my understanding is wider and greater than if I tried to figure things out on my own. He helps me to see life in a better way and to know my God loves me and that he puts things in my life to shape me into my best Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is a social unit God put us in to learn what we need to to survive the world and to learn more about him and his commandments. Adam and Eve was the first family on the Earth and if there was another way were to live then God would have set us up in another way. In familes we first learn what love is, who God is, how to treat people. There God ment for us devolp realtionship that are strong and that will give us support through the great storms of life and better enjoy the happy moments. And God has ment for family to be together for all time and eternity. TO be able to have all your family through out this history of your family tree to be connected. Imagine not just to be able to be with your fmaily after this life to to still be able to have that strong family connection because of the priesthood power that is given to rightous men, to seal families together. For me knowing that i will be ab;e to be with my family after this life is a comfort. Especially after my Mom died a few years ago. To know she is not lost to me give me comfort that when she died that good-bye is not forever. Then when my adopted sister became part of our family we had her sealed to us in the temple, meaning she will be my sister forever. I I got this comforting feeling from the Holy Ghost that my family cannot be broken apart no matter what happens in life. Show more Show less
