Hi I'm Leslee

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert and love the church.

About Me

I am an educator with 20 years under my belt. I have three kids and have had three husbands. The first was a divorce, the second passed away and still happily married to the third one. The second one had colon cancer and was sick for two years before he died. It was a hard time in my life. I teach music and have taught grades from the 5th grade to High School. I am currently teaching piano, guitar and steel drum.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert and have been in the church for 17 years and have loved every minute of it. I joined the church after loosing a baby. I was angry at God and wanted to hurt anyone and everyone because He had hurt me. I was really having a hard time when my husband at the time said I can help you to get over the baby and get on with your life. He gave me a Book of Mormon and told me to read it and it would help me to find the answers to my questions on why the Lord took our baby. I began reading it and found that it was just like reading a great novel. It was telling me about my Savior and how he loves me and that someday I can go back and be with him. I had not told anyone except my husband that I was reading the Book of Mormon. Then one afternoon I was reading it and I heard an knock on the door. I answered it and it was my friend Gene. He said that he had a prompting and needed to come by and see if it was true. Well his prompting was to come to my house because he knew that I was reading the Book of Mormon and that I was thinking of joining the church. I told him that I had not told anyone and how did he know. Well it was from his following of the Spirit that led him to me and he told me that I was going to be baptized and join the church. I was so stunned that I told him that I wanted to do it as soon as possible. I learned that families can be together forever and since my second husband died and my youngest is sealed to us I can see him again in heaven and he will be waiting for me and we can raise the baby that we lost here on earth! I am so excited to share my testimony that I know that this church is true and that Jesus is the Christ and Heavenly Father is my Father in heaven. Families can be together forever. Joseph Smith restored the church here on earth and I am a Child of God and I love my Savior and my Redeemer Jesus Christ. I say these things in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently the music director and the music chorister for my ward. I also have a visiting teaching route with three wonderful ladies that I visit with once a month and love them all dearly. I participate in most activities at my church because it helps me to feel more apart of a bigger family and it makes life easier for me. My daughter recently became the President of the Beehives (youngest in the young women's organization for girls 12-13 year olds). My husband visits three families and helps them when they need it and that helps our Bishop (life a priest or minister) of our ward to know that the ward is doing okay. I have been the Beehive advisor, taught in Primary (kids meeting), and been in the chorister as my callings.
