Hi I'm Katie

I'm a wife, a mother, a proud Texan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married just over three years and like most couples today we have had many twists and turns along our journey. I have recently switched roles with my hubby as the sole-provider to become a new stay-at-home mom. It has been a new adventure to say the least and I now realize how tiring Motherhood really can be as I chase our 1 1/2 year old around the house. Luckily I have a loving husband who reminds me how special I am everyday. I love playing soccer, running with my husband, watching basketball (GO SPURS), traveling, and eating out with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, it is true, but why I have chosen to stay a member is simple, I know the Church is true. I have not seen an angel or heard a voice but I have felt the overwhelming feeling inside my heart that speaks this church is true. Its the kind of feeling that embraces your whole soul with warmth and peace. I am not perfect and have fallen short many times in my life but I have always known my Heavenly Father lives and loves me and that through his Son, Jesus Christ we can be and are forgiven. I have seen miracles in my own life as I witnessed the birth of my own son who was born 3 months early. By the laws of science and medicine all odds were against him but I am happy to say he is a vibrant little boy blessed with no complications. I know he would not be here without divine intervention and the faith and prayers of so many. My faith keeps me going with the knowledge that families are forever and that life does go on in the eternities to come. I know I have a loving Father in Heaven who knows me as his daughter and that we are all connected to each other.

How I live my faith

For me I try and live my life by being kind to ALL people. I just try and treat others as I would like to be treated. I try and love my family the best way I can. We eat together every night and enjoy that time together. Monday nights we set aside as Family Night where we talk about the scriptures, sing songs, play games, and eat yummy desserts. Its not always easy especially with a little one but we try our best and get excited when he remembers something we talked about. I go to church on Sunday to reflect on the Savior and to better understand who I am and where I am going. I have served in the church as a teacher, a chorister, and as an activity coordinator (plan social dinners ... we love to eat!!! I try and do my part as a responsible citizen to the nation and be a good neighbor to those in my community as well. I love to serve and help other people. If anything it helps heal my heart as I forget myself. At the end of the day I'm just an average mom who believes in the power of prayer and the strength of families. I try to look for the good in the world and create that haven for my own family.
