Hi I'm Sophia Olivas

I love to laugh and be with family and friends. I'm a mormon!

About Me

I am currently in school right now, I attend one of the University here in AZ. I am getting my bachelors degree in Elementary/Special Education. I love working with children, they always make me smile and can turn a bad day into a great day. Once I graduated I would love to teach 4th through 6th grade ED (emotional disabled) class or a regular 6th grade class. I love the challeng that comes with being an educator. I LOVE dancing and singing, especially while driving. I love doing hair, makeup and nails. My family means everything to me and I enjoy being around them. I have the best friends anyone could ask for. They are always there for me when I need advice or when I just want to do something silly and crazy!!!! I say the most random things at the most random times. I love helping and making others laugh! Life is just GREAT!

Why I am a Mormon

It all started my Junior year in high school. I had attended a viewing for one of my classmates that was LDS. As I entered that viewing I noticed that his family was not crying, I thought to myself "this is really weird", every viewing I had ever attended in the past people would be crying their eyes out. The next day at school I had stopped by a friend of my mom's that I knew was LDS and I asked her, why the family of my classmate was not crying. She looked at me and smiled and said, "Sophia in our church we believe that families will be together forever". That touched my heart and I wanted to know more. I started going to mutual with a friend of mine and after we graduated I began going to church. At first it was hard for me to sit through three hours of church but as time went on it didn't bother me because I always enjoyed the talks and the lessons. Finally after attending church on and off for about year and attending two farewell talks, I knew I was ready and dedicated to meet with missionaries. By the end of my first discussion with the missionaries, the spirit was so strong and I knew that I wanted to be a member of the true church of Jesus Christ. I went home and prayed about wether the church was true and if I should be baptized. I had never felt so much at peace after my prayer to Heavenly Father. At my next discussion we set a date and time for my baptism. It has been two and half years now since I made the biggest, hardest but best decision of my life. I know belong to the true church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. That we have a living Prophet on Earth this Latter Days. I know that if I fallow the comments and listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost I will live with my Heavenly Father again!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best person I can be. I set good examples for those around me. I set standards and I do not and will not lower them for anyone. I dress modestly, refrain from swearing, and do not drink alcohol. I stay active in my ward by teaching once a month. I attend family home evenings and ward activities. I fallow the commandments. I listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I share my testimony, but most importantly, I work hard to let the light of Christ shine through me.
