Hi I'm Cheryl

I'm a vegan, a financial aid officer, a cross-stitcher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I hate mac 'n cheese. I love funny greeting cards. I hate making my bed. I love playing the piano. I am a vegan. I like to sing along with the radio while driving. I regret never doing a study abroad semester. I'm a voracious reader. I have a bad habit of falling in love with fictional characters. I drive a VW. I'm addicted to music. I love going to Disneyland. If I could, I would move to San Diego and spend my days writing on the beach. I have a Master's degree in psychology. Octopuses (octopii?) creep me out.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and I have a strong pioneer heritage on both sides of my family. However, I made the choice myself to remain a member of the Church and have spent my life trying to strengthen my testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ. Through personal experiences I have come to know that Jesus is my Redeemer, that he died for me, and I am able to repent of my sins through his Atonement. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows each of us personally and is aware of us, our challenges, our needs, and our desires.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through participating in weekly worship services on Sunday. I read my scriptures (The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price) and pray to my Heavenly Father on a daily basis. I am a Visiting Teacher, which means I am responsible for ensuring the spiritual and temporal well-being of two assigned sisters in my ward.
