Hi I'm Allison

I have lived in Arizona all my life. I am a wife and a mother of two children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. I met and married my husband while attending college. I completed a degree in biology, secondary education, but currently stay home full-time with my two children. I love to read and play the piano, and have recently learned to quilt. I teach a few piano students, and find great satisfaction in sharing my love of music with others. As a family, we enjoy hiking, swimming, reading, taking care of our garden, and playing games together. I am fortunate to live near many of my extended family members and enjoy spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Along with my brother and four sisters, I was raised Mormon by loving parents who led by example. I have always tried to follow the teachings of the church, and as I have done so, my life has been filled with peace and happiness. As a child, I decided to read the Book of Mormon by myself. I found within it a wonderful peace, and I knew it was the word of God. I know that I am a child of God, and that He knows me personally and loves me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that He suffered and died for me, that my sins can be forgiven if I repent and follow Him. Like everyone else, I have my challenges and struggles, but I am able to have joy and happiness as I try to live the teachings of the Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily by striving to follow Jesus Christ. I try to love and serve those around me. I work to increase my relationship with God through personal prayer and scripture study. My husband and I try to teach our children how to follow Jesus. Each morning, my family reads from the Book of Mormon together. My husband and I read from the Bible together at night. We pray as a family both morning and night, and teach our children to pray individually. Each Monday night, we have "Family Home Evening," where we spend time together singing, talking, and taking turns sharing a lesson. My husband and I encourage our children to show love and kindness to those around them. I am currently the music leader for the children of my congregation. I lead singing time each Sunday, teaching the children songs that help them to learn more about the gospel. It is a fun opportunity for me. I love working with the children, sharing music with them and using creativity to keep things interesting and enjoyable. I am also assigned to "visit teach" three other women in our congregation. I make visits to them at least once a month, and make myself available to help them when they may be in need.
