Hi I'm Cameron Lindsay

I swim, play the piano, love to learn, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a middle child in a family of 6. My little sister and I are 3 years apart, and there is 10 year gap to my older siblings. Consequently, my parents raised us as a second family, and our lives revolved around swimming, piano, church, family and school. When 8, I joined a competitive swim team. Looking back, other than to serve a mission, that decision affected my life more than anything else. Swimming taught me principles of hard work and self-mastery, and allowed me to be positively influenced by fantastic people and I benefited from advice and support received from coaches. One of them was very supportive of my choice to serve a mission. He thought it was awesome I was taking time out of life in my athletic prime to go and serve others. The same year I started swimming I began the journey that led me to becoming an accomplished pianist. Now, more than a decade later, I am reaping the benefits from both activities. Performing well in each, combined with school was a struggle; I sacrificed hours with friends and family, to pursue and develop my God given talents. I attribute all of my success to the love of my Heavenly Father, the gifts he has given me, and his trust in my persistence to develop the talents I have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and have loved it most of my life. Through the teachings and examples of my parents, family, and other leaders, I've learned of the blessings this gospel brings. However it was my choice to apply these teachings in my life. I love my Heavenly Father, and do my best to obey Him. I can't imagine my life without this gospel; it has brought me so much! It has brought me joy, knowledge, peace of mind, and friends, it has also brought me closer to my family, who I can live with forever! Because of the many blessings this gospel has brought me, I made the decision to serve a mission, to help others find what I have found. I accepted the call to serve, and am happily helping those around me in Arizona. I want to share with others all of the joy that I have felt as a direct result of following the teachings of Jesus Christ. This church is the Kingdom of God here on the earth, it teaches Jesus Christ's full Gospel! I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow everyday, receiving the myriad of blessings associated with a faithful membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I love this gospel with all of my heart, and that is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). I live my faith so others recognize me for who I am; a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a swimmer, competitions happened on Saturdays and Sundays but I determined I would not compete on Sundays. I was the only Mormon among my swimming peers, and once they understood my beliefs, they recognized I was doing what I knew to be right, and respected me for it. I have faith in, and love Jesus Christ, and His infinite ability to help us become better people daily through the power of his atoning sacrifice. With His help, nothing is impossible! I try to follow Heavenly Father's will for me, because I know He wants the best for each of his children, though we don't always recognize it. Following His will always aids us to accomplish more, and enjoy our surroundings. When we follow His tailored plan, we make ourselves happier, for that is all He wants; fulfilled peace and joy for His children!
