Hi I'm Deena

I'm a graphic designer. I love the mountains and the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Tiawan and adopted by an American Air Force serviceman’s family as a baby. My parents converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) when I was five years old. We lived in Kansas, USA at that time. Desiring to be closer to more Mormons, my family moved to Northern Utah, USA. I grew up in the beautiful Rockie Mountains where I often felt the spirit of my Heavenly Father. I always will call them home. I currently live in Arizona, USA. I am a graphic designer. I am single and find great strength in my many friends. I enjoy reading, writing, music, the outdoors, dutch oven cooking and I’m a foodie. I love dining out with my friends. My family is spread across the country and while we see little of one another, I cherish them.

Why I am a Mormon

Since the age of five, my family has practiced the Mormon religion. As a child it brought peace into the home and structured a foundation of standards that enabled peaceful living. While I fell away into inactivity in my mid-twenties, I experienced a loss as I failed to live my religious values that I had been raised with. In my late twenties, I returned to full activity in the Mormon faith because I knew for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to true peace. This peace brings joy and happiness to my soul that is not found anywhere else. I no longer follow the faith simply based upon my parent’s desires, but my own will to accept and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I cherish the choice and example of my parents, and respectfully follow the faith with my own testimony of the love of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that their love is for all to feel and experience individually.

How I live my faith

Each day, I try to recall the teachings of Jesus Christ, taught in my weekly attendance at church. I strive to emulate these teachings in all of my actions. It is not always easy to overcome the disappointments and frustrations of life, but by remembering my faith in my Savior, I strive to live a life that is an example to others.
